Yes! Everyone has a call to live out their baptismal promise. Is everyone called to live out that call in religious life? No.

There are questions you can ask yourself if you are discerning a call to religious life. Some questions may not apply to you but others will be very meaningful as you go through the discernment process.

• Do I want to be a part of something bigger?
• Do I long to be a minister to those in need and at the same time desire contemplation?
• Do I want to serve others and develop my relationship with God in communion with others?
• Am I energized when I imagine myself ministering to others as a religious.

If you answered “yes” to any of the questions then God may be asking you to explore the possibility of ministering to others in the context of religious life.
